The Online Super Satellite for theSummer Face/Off 2010 took place on the 13th May 2010 on XLBet.com. The event gathered 10 players, 4 of which gained their entry through the freerolls hosted in the last two weeks on XLBet.com
The tournament picked up at a speedy rate and players started exiting the tournament quite quickly, yet towards the later stage of the game, 3 of the final players battled it out for over one hour before the final hand was played, and the prizes taken down. The most active plays took place between MarioStrong and DonDahlDK whilst Lars2301 was using a tight strategy taking down most of the pots pre-flop.
The game came to an end when MarioStrong [A7] opened up to 900 on a 300 BB and just had to call Lars2301’s All in as he was pot committed. When the cards flopped, Lars [AK] was well in front and his hand kept it’s strength all the way to the river, sending out Mariostrong in third place, leaving Lars2301 and DonDahlDk as winners of the Summer Face/Off Online Super Satellite.
The winners of this online tournament won themselves a ticket each to the Malta Summer Face/Off €300 + €30 Live Holdem Tournament, taking place at the Dragonara Casino. The event is taking place between the 28th and the 30th May 2010, and is expected to attract around 80 players.
Apart from the cash prize-pool, the 1st prize winner will also win an all-inclusive package to a $1,100 No Limit Hold’em tournament being held in Cyprus. The package includes 5 star accommodation, travel expenses, tournament buyin, hotel transfers, and spending money.
The Summer Face/Off tournament will also offer a side event in the form of a Pot Limit Omaha tournament. The tournament buy-in is set at €100 and player entry is capped at 24 participants. The Omaha event is scheduled to take place on the 30th May 2010.
With two weeks to go, players are urged to pick the starting day of preference for the Summer Face/Off €300 + €30 event, as players may choose to start on Day 1A [Friday 28th May] or Day 1B [Saturday 29th May]. Players will be accepted on a first come first served basis, so the earlier they book, the better a chance they stand of playing on their preferred starting day.
