The Portomaso Casino, has just announced that it has come to an agreement withPokerstars.com, the world’s largest poker room and has been selected as the venue for a series of top international Poker events! The first being the IPT or Italian Poker Tour, which will be held in November 2010.
These are exciting times for the Portomaso Casino as well as the Maltese Islands on the whole and it is expected that there will be further appointments scheduled for 2011.
The general Manager at the Portomaso Casino, Gianfranco Scordato, was available for comment and added that “This agreement finally puts Malta and the Portomaso Casino on the calendar of the most important circuit in Europe.”
In the last two years, Malta has been host to several quality live poker tournaments. The islands have so much to offer that it only seems natural for Poker Event organisers to resort to the sunny islands to host their international circuits. The agreement betweenPokerstars and the Portomaso Casino will surely help to further this foreign interest in our beloved islands.
