The Mediterranean Poker cup came to a close last week at the Portomaso Casino, St. Julians Malta. The event saw a variety of players from European countries face off at the many events co-ordinated in the first Mediterranean Poker Cup to be hosted on the Maltese Islands.
Maltese resident Keith Boniface [pictured above] from Great Britain, claimed the first prize of the Texas Hold’em Main event [€1,100] where he won €20,135. Boniface split with 2nd prize winner Viktoriya Taranova from Russia. The female poker player was entitled to €12,400 for her placing yet she split with Boniface and they each pocketed €16,875 from the main event. Both players were followed by Russian player Yuri Patrogin who came in third and won €8,070 for his placing.
Keith Boniface was also successful in a €550 Hold’em event in which he placed third, winning yet another €3,260 for his efforts [Who ever said that poker was just a game of luck? :P]. The event was led by Luigi Basil from Italy who won €8,610m followed by Matthew Lewis winning €5,350 for placing third.
The €3,000 VIP event at the Mediterranean Poker Cup was won by Jesper Petersen from Denmark who came in first taking home €17,600. Jesper was followed by Steven van Zadelhoff from the Netherlands, who won himself €11,200. Keith Gipson was the third winner and pocketed €6,800 for his performance at the exclusive event.
