The 3rd Malta Poker Open Satellite Tournament came to a close in the early hours of Friday morning with a heads up bout between Andrew Tabone and Carmel Micallef. The final hand saw Ks8s versus JhJd where Carmels hooks kept their lead all the way to the river. Obtaining a flush draw on the turn, Andrew pushed Carmel all-in almost 4 hours after the satellite had started.
A nine of spades crushed Carmels chances of winning the hand, yet he called Andrews all-in for him to reveal a Flush, King High.
Last Thursdays tournament took place at the Oracle Casino, Qawra. The event started at 20:30Hrs and was completed by 01:00Hrs. Andrew won a seat to the Malta Poker Open €330 main event taking place at the Portomaso Casino in April, while Carmel won a seat to next week’s satellite, giving him another shot at the €330 seat.
Next week’s satellite will be taking place on Thursday 26th March at the Portomaso Casino at 20:00Hrs. Players are advised to register early to ensure they find a place as tables are filling up promptly.
